ITC Youth Worker

At MacKillop Family Services, we're on the lookout for compassionate and enthusiastic Youth Workers to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Program. We are currently offering Casual and Permanent Part-Time opportunities based in Blacktown and surrounding areas. You must have availability to work all types of shifts, including weekends and sleepovers.

You'll be more than just a Youth Worker. You'll be a mentor, a role model, and a change-maker. You'll play a key part in helping youth overcome challenges, build their confidence, and guide them toward a brighter future.

You will provide trauma-informed services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families. You will offer young people safety, stability, predictability, and consistency by implementing house guidelines and supporting the implementation of individual strategies and case plans. Additionally, you will participate in team meetings, house meetings, and case review meetings to ensure that young people receive services that meet their needs.

• Mentor and engage young people, guiding them through life skills development and personal growth.
• Role model positive behaviors, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility.
• Empower youth by encouraging their active participation in decisions that impact their lives.
• Provide hands-on support with day-to-day tasks like meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and stable environment.
• Collaborate with a vibrant team to tailor services that meet the specific needs of each young person.
• Safeguard their wellbeing by reporting any concerns to ensure they're safe and supported.

You're passionate about supporting youth and ready to make an impact. Whether you have previous experience in youth services or are eager to start your career, we want to hear from you. You bring:

• A Diploma in Youth Work or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care.
• A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and a commitment to cultural competency.
• A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively.

• Valid and current Driver's License.
• Valid and current Workers with Children's Check.
• Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check.
• Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
