ServiceNow Software Engineer - Federal Gov Contract, Canberra

Role: ServiceNow Software Engineer for a Federal Government contract based in Canberra. Interstate candidates considered. Baseline clearance (minimum) or NV1 clearance required. ASAP start until end of FY 2026 with a potential x12 extension option.

Responsibilities
  • Develop ServiceNow solutions including scripting, configuration, integrations, and customisations.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, user researchers and service designers to understand requirements and translate them into iterative prototypes through to final working solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing ServiceNow applications and modules.
  • Provide advanced technical support for ServiceNow by troubleshooting, implementing bug fixes and performing root cause analysis.
  • Ensure system stability and performance by performing regular maintenance and upgrades.
  • Work in accordance with agile principles and participate in agile ceremonies.
  • Document all technical designs, specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to develop best practices for ServiceNow development.
  • Train and mentor junior developers.
  • Stay up-to-date with new ServiceNow features and functionalities and incorporate them into development processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience as a ServiceNow Engineer/Lead Developer with strong scripting, configuration, integrations, and customisation skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and prototypes.
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing ServiceNow applications; strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to train and mentor junior staff and share knowledge.
