Structural Construction Supervisor required for portfolio of self-perform mining projects working with a large Tier 1 mining asset owner.

  • Family Friendly FIFO roster 16:12 – travel on company time
  • Long term opportunity with project pipeline of 5+ years
  • Lead critical structural projects including concrete, piping, and steel works

Here at Concentis, we have partnered with a global mining company to find a Structural Construction Supervisor to lead a portfolio of mine site infrastructure projects in far north QLD.

As the Construction Supervisor, you will oversee a team delivering critical structural works, including concrete formwork, steel fixing, batching and pouring, pipe work and the likes. With a focus on the tailings dam and related structural projects, this role suits someone with a background in bridges or culverts. This will be a FIFO 16:12 roster over a 12-month contract, with a view to extend

Responsibilities:

Team Management and Leadership:

  • Lead a team of operators and support personnel working across multiple work fronts
  • Provide guidance, support, and clear instructions to ensure efficient and safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, motivation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage equipment and resources, including maintenance and optimising uptime.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgetary requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with project specifications, designs, and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with site personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and address any issues or delays, and implement corrective actions as required.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure that construction works meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Identify potential risks, hazards, and non-compliance issues, and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and other relevant legal requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, work records, and safety records.

About You:

  • Experience in project construction supervision in the structural construction sector.
  • Must have contractor and/or self-perform experience.
  • Background in leading delivery of concrete works, including structural concreting and piping.
  • Experience with projects such as bridges or culverts is highly desirable.
  • Can engage on a FIFO roster with flexible work arrangements.
  • All travel on day 1 and 16 of roster – fully paid on company time
  • Long term role with a rolling 12-month contract for the right person.
