Role Overview:

This is a unique opportunity for an Environmental Health professional to join the Centre for Population Health. The role involves preparing and responding to public health issues, applying environmental health expertise to emerging exposures, and engaging in research, training, and career development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and responding to environmental health hazards
  • Enforcing public health legislation and regulations
  • Liaising with government agencies and local councils
  • Investigating complaints and conducting health surveys
  • Supporting outbreak response and public health reporting

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental Health

Selection Criteria:

  • Knowledge of NSW Public Health Act 2010, Smoke Free Environment Act 2000, and Tobacco Act and Regulations
  • Experience in environmental health, public health legislation, and risk assessment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
