Overview

Lead Software Engineer – Back End (FinTech) based in Bangkok, relocation package provided. You will develop robust backend systems and architect scalable data pipelines and storage solutions to support complex data collection, processing, and analysis, enabling reliable data insights for financial technology solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Think and own the full life cycle of our products, from business requirements and technology selection to coding standards, agile development, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
  • Design, develop and maintain platforms and data pipelines across fintech domains.
  • Boost system performance by building stable, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
  • Write great code and help others write great code; mentor team members and contribute to wider engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset; lead by inspiring innovation and driving vision.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to advance product and technology goals.
  • Shape the future team by participating in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent.
What You'll Need To Succeed
  • 10+ years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#; proven track record of developing high-performance applications in production.
  • Insightful experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, real-time processing frameworks like Apache Spark) and advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
  • Systems thinking: awareness of edge cases, failure modes, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Data-driven decision making using metrics; passion for software craftsmanship and continuous learning.
  • Experience with Scrum/ Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Experience with operational excellence, metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
It's Great If You Have
  • Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
  • Domain knowledge in financial reconciliation, financial reporting, tax, payout methods like virtual cards or customer payments.
  • Hands-on experience with Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with core engineering infrastructure tools (GitLab, CI/CD, Kubernetes).
  • Experience developing, maintaining and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience leading projects, initiatives and/or teams with full ownership of the systems involved.

Location: Bangkok, Thailand. Relocation package is provided.
