We're looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial equities investment analyst to join our managed funds business.

Lakehouse Capital launched in November 2016 and currently has $650 million in funds under management across two strategies. The Lakehouse Global Growth Fund is focused on growing mid- and large-cap companies listed primarily in developed markets, while the Lakehouse Small Companies Fund is focused on fast-growing small companies listed in Australia and New Zealand.

The role is Sydney based and compensation will comprise of salary and a potential variable component tied to business and fund-level investment performance.

The ideal candidate will have 5-plus years of personal investing experience and/or 3-plus years of professional investing experience. Investors who have lived, worked, and/or invested outside of Australia will be stronger candidates for this role given our global orientation. Candidates must currently reside in-country and have unrestricted working rights in Australia.

What You'll Be Doing

• Working closely with the portfolio managers and the investment team to maintain coverage and generate new investment ideas across both strategies
• Meeting with companies, analysts, and brokers. Most meetings take place in Sydney, or over Teams / Zoom, with some infrequent travel expected
• Establishing internal and external thought leadership
• Contributing to content such as investor letters, blog posts, and other media
• Engaging with current and potential investors
• ...and anything else we need to do to bring the best possible long-term returns to our investors

What you need to bring to the table

• Passion for long-term, growth-oriented investing
• Advanced knowledge of financial statements
• Ability to communicate complex ideas simply

Candidates of many stripes will be considered but those who stand out will have one or more of the following traits:

• Relevant buy-side experience in Australian or global equities
• Understanding of business models predicated on intellectual property, extremely loyal customers and/or network effects
• An impressive track record of investing performance
• A time machine
