We are looking for an experienced Personal Injuries Paralegal to join our Compensation Law team, which is made up of experienced senior associates, lawyers, and paralegals who practice exclusively in this area of law.

Legal Practice Director, Jeff Garrett, is also part of the team and brings a wealth of experience to the department. We believe we have developed a hard-won reputation for fiercely advocating for our clients and obtaining the best outcomes in their cases.

We moved into our current Coolangatta beachfront offices located in The Strand building in 1989 and have continued to grow ever since, with over 75 staff and additional offices located at Robina Town Centre, Southport, Kingscliff, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal with a minimum of 2 years of practical experience to join our team.

This role will see the right candidate assisting with client enquiries and doing support work in compensation matters that span various areas, including Motor Vehicle Accidents, Work Injuries, Public Liability Claims, Medical Negligence, Total and Permanent Disability, Institutional Abuse matters across most state jurisdictions, but mainly Queensland and New South Wales. You will receive ongoing training in this area as an experienced paralegal and support the lawyers acting for our clients. You must deliver high-quality legal services to clients, have exceptional organisation skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a large team.

The role will require you to:

  • Draft and collate correspondence
  • Complete claim forms and draft court documents
  • File documents electronically
  • Liaise with clients and 3rd parties (insurers & medical experts)
  • General legal administrative support
  • Providing support and exceptional service to all staff and our clients
  • Assisting with new client enquiries
  • Booking appointments and diary management
  • Qualifying enquiries in line with our processes and procedures
  • Reporting to and assisting the personal injury department manager
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a paralegal role
  • An intent or purpose in life to help people and change their lives for the better
  • Well-spoken, articulate and a friendly disposition
  • Excellent communication and client liaison skills
  • A high attention to detail and the ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary skills
  • An open and friendly disposition with emotional intelligence
  • Responsible and have integrity
  • A good work ethic and self-motivated
  • A good team player attitude who will embrace the culture and systems of the firm
  • Willingness to embrace new technology and work electronically

  • Coordination, scheduling, and monitoring skills
  • Ability to prioritise competing tasks

  • Experience in LEAP software is beneficial, but not a requirement

The Location

Attwood Marshall Lawyers has modern, spacious, well-positioned offices at Coolangatta, Robina Town Centre, Southport, Kingscliff, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. This full-time position is based at our Coolangatta office. There may be instances where you will be required to work from our other offices.
