Overview

Location: Airport West Donor Centre, Victoria

Employment type: Permanent Part-Time

Hours: 44.00 hours per fortnight, 7 shifts on a rotating roster (Monday to Sunday).

Responsibilities
  • Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
  • Create a donor experience they'll love and want to return
  • Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Set up machines and collection equipment
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist with rebooking their next donation
  • Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets

Note: A day in the centre could include the duties above and related procedures as required. Full training is provided, combining on-the-job practice with online learning.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
  • Occasionally lift between 9-22.7 kg
  • Support and foster a positive team culture
  • Frequently stand, walk, and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
  • Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
