Cape Air Transport operates under a Part 135/138 AOC from Horn Island, in the spectacular Torres Strait. Our fleet—featuring Britten Norman Islanders, Cessna 206, and Piper Cherokee 6—delivers essential air services across one of Australia's most remote and operationally demanding regions. Our operations are supported by Tableland Aircraft Maintenance, ensuring high standards of safety, reliability, and operational continuity.

The Role

We are seeking a capable and experienced Line Pilot to join our professional team. This is a hands-on, operational flying role suited to someone with solid Part 135 non-scheduled air transport experience and a calm, practical approach to decision-making. A willingness to step in, support the team, and contribute wherever needed—on the ground or in the air—is essential.

What You'll Be Doing

Operating safe and efficient air transport services across the Torres Strait and Cape York Peninsula

Flying primarily Britten Norman Islanders in varied and challenging conditions

Exercising sound judgment and independent thinking in dynamic operational settings

Supporting a positive team culture built on reliability, initiative, and mutual respect

Current Multi-Engine Class Rating

Proven experience in Part 135 non-scheduled air transport operations

Demonstrated ability to operate independently in remote and weather-affected environments

Strong situational awareness and a consistent, logical approach to operational decision-making

Experience flying in remote regions, particularly during the wet season

Familiarity with Britten Norman Islander aircraft

Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills
