About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a critical role in supporting the operation and maintenance of essential assets for air navigation and aviation rescue firefighting services. As a Senior Engineering Specialist, you will contribute to the safety and efficiency of the aviation industry by providing technical leadership and engineering expertise in the communications domain.

Your duties will include:

  • Acting as a trusted technology advisor, providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Developing technical plans and monitoring progress to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Managing technology change processes, including configuration management and change control.
  • Performing systems engineering tasks in line with safety and system management policies.
  • Supporting projects to deliver against specified requirements and ensuring system integrity.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering and eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (e.g., RPEQ).
  • Significant experience in applying systems engineering processes to complex systems.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Experience in aviation safety management systems and knowledge of Civil Aviation Safety Regulations Part 171 (desirable).
  • Highly desirable: Experience in designing, maintaining, and supporting air traffic management systems, particularly in VHF, UHF, and HF communications domains.
