We currently have an opportunity for a Community Development Officer (Youth) to join our team.

As a Community Development Officer (Youth) You Will
  1. Provide support to SENTRAL Youth Services and community development programs
  2. Identify and assess recreational, vocational, educational, health and social needs of young people in the Kiama Local Government area, and to develop and deliver programs that address these needs
  3. Develop and foster relationships with a range of community stakeholders including local schools and youth service providers.
What We Offer...
  1. Casual role offering flexibility. Hourly rate of pay from $53.12 to $58.57 inclusive of 25% casual loading (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
  2. 11.5 % superannuation
What You'll Need To Be Successful In The Role...
  1. A minimum Certificate IV qualification in Youth Work, Community Services/Welfare or another relevant field
  2. Experience working as a youth worker or working in a related community/educational discipline
  3. Well-developed communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with young people and individuals from a variety of backgrounds
  4. Knowledge of youth culture, youth services sector and issues impacting young people and the wider community
  5. The ability to research matters impacting young people, identify needs, and provide up to date and appropriate support and referral options
  6. The ability to respond calmly and safely in challenging situations
  7. The ability and willingness to work at short notice, after hours and/or weekends
  8. A minimum Class C Driver's Licence.
