Software Engineer

The Squiz product team is expanding as it works to deliver a cloud-based digital experience platform (DXP). Squiz DXP (Digital Experience Platform) is a software solution that helps businesses to create and manage digital experiences for their customers. It provides a wide range of tools and features that can be used to build and maintain websites, mobile apps, and other digital channels.

As a Software Engineer for the Search core product team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a world-class search engine product using best practices and techniques. The core team is currently undertaking significant enhancements to the core search engine, with a focus on cutting edge technologies such as AI/LLM integration.

Responsibilities

1. Create, improve and maintain code, with a focus on back-end development of the search engine core
2. Contribute towards C to C++ uplift of existing code base
3. Development of code that has been run in production environments with users
4. Develop/enhance robust application code which meets all technical requirements
5. Apply best development practices across all your work
6. Write and maintain software documentation

Skills

1. Experience using C/C++ coding languages, experience with Java would also be beneficial
2. Knowledge and interest in information retrieval and/or machine learning is a major benefit but not essential
3. Good understanding of testing principles and frameworks
4. Good understanding of extensible, modular software design
5. Some understanding of DevOps principles and practices would be a plus
6. A self-motivated individual who communicates and articulates well

This position is open to candidates in the eastern states of Australia.
