Principal Architect

Principal Architect - Service Provider at Cisco. This role leads the strategic direction for Cisco's CX Service Provider solutions, aligned with Cisco goals and customer needs.

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the strategic direction of Cisco's CX Service Provider solutions, ensuring alignment with Cisco's goals and customer needs.
• Solution Design and Integration: Design and integrate CX solutions addressing end-to-end service provider initiatives, including a mix of hardware, software, and services. Requires deep knowledge of SP hardware/software technologies, AI and cloud-related technologies, SP business trends (including managed services), service delivery (Managed Services and software lifecycle practices), SP IP Transport technologies, SP Automation technologies and solutions.
• Cross-Functional Work: Collaborate across CX and Cisco functions, leveraging multiple technologies and diverse teams to create innovative solutions.
• Advisory Role: Proactively identify and solve complex architectural challenges for service provider customers with deep understanding of SP architectures, frameworks, and industry solutions.
• Technical Expertise: Translate complex requirements into secure, reliable, and serviceable architectures.
• Engineering Excellence: Ensure CX engineering practices meet high standards of quality, repeatability, and scalability.
• Communication and Relationship Building: Build lasting relationships within the company, with customers and partners as a trusted advisor.
• Industry Presence: Maintain a visible industry presence through patents, standards contributions, blogs, whitepapers, speaking engagements, etc.
• Mentorship and Learning: Mentor and support professional development, participate in knowledge sharing within role communities.
• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Drive problem-solving, resolve open issues, engage senior leadership, and align stakeholders.
• Automation & Orchestration: Provide technology leadership on SP network services automation and orchestration, aligning architecture/design with CX automation/orchestration offerings.
• Innovation: Incubate/innovate on new capabilities and core assets/IP with CX Product Management and Delivery teams.
• Competitive Leadership: Understand competitive landscape and communicate insights to delivery leadership, outlining portfolio adjustments as needed.
• Observability and QoE: Provide technical leadership around SP observability platforms and related innovations.

Work in close collaboration with the in-region Cisco Customer Experience (CX) team to help customers deploy and manage Service Provider solutions, focusing on delivering the highest quality customer experience.

• BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Systems with 15+ years of relevant Service Provider experience.
• Deep technologist with expertise in SP technologies.
• Hands-on experience with SP technologies in Transport, Core, Mobility, etc.
• Active technology enthusiast with public/industry forum presence on technology vision and roadmap.
• Strong customer consulting abilities for pre-sales and delivery of sophisticated service orchestration solutions.
• Experience delivering large, sophisticated solutions with Agile and CI/CD methodologies.
• Experience in automation of Device/Service Provisioning, Cross-Domain Orchestration, Closed-Loop Automation, and Telemetry is a plus.
• Contribution to Open Source projects and patterns.
• Ability to conduct Well-Architected Reviews of SP Networks focusing on resiliency, sustainability, and efficiency.
