Make Tasmania your office

Our Program Begins In February Each Year, Initially Based In Hobart, Tasmania. You Will Have The Opportunity To Rotate Across Various, Relevant Areas Of Our Business Where You Can Build On Your Capabilities And Create a Career That's Right For You. This May Include Being Onsite For a Major Asset Upgrade, Being Involved In The Pre-commissioning And Commissioning Stages Of a Project, Involved In Detailed Design With Our Consulting Business Entura, Or Working On Our Strategic Asset Plan. The Program Also Involves:

  • Depending on your role, working at sites across Tasmania, including on site at our hydropower stations, dams and lakes.
  • Being a part of big renewable infrastructure projects that are working towards powering the nation.
  • Taking part in professional development and networking with your fellow graduates and senior colleagues.

This is a permanent, ongoing role where we will work with you to place you within the business in time for the conclusion of the program.

Key Attributes You Will Bring To The Program

  • A recent (graduated within the last 2 years) or upcoming degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Renewable).
  • Passion, enthusiasm and a commitment to driving positive change.
  • Abilities to communicate and work effectively (written and verbal) in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and self-awareness.
  • Willingness to learn and build relationships inside and across the business.

Please attach your resume and cover letter outlining your skills and experiences you will bring, including telling us a bit about who you are as this is your chance to really sell us on you You will also be required to attach a copy of your most recent University transcript and be asked to answer the following in your application form:

  • What interests you in working with Hydro Tasmania and what would you like to achieve within the Graduate Program?
  • What led you to choose your area of study?
  • What skills from your non-academic work and life would you bring to the Graduate Program?

When applying, make sure you select the stream most relevant to your degree/background. If more than one, you can apply for multiple streams, but it can really help your application's attention to detail if you call this out in your cover letter and highlight a preferred stream
