Part of Corporate Technology, Financial Risk and Modelling Technology, this role combines business, data and modelling experiences for optimised Financial and Credit models. The strategy is to put Data at the centre of every interaction, modelling the business concepts in a Semantic Layer, making it machine readable and driving the agentic future solutions. The opportunities for growth in this team are significant. We are the largest consumers of data in the Group and create all the Group\'s Financial Risk models and provide analytics and insights solutions.

Overview

The role reports to the General Manager for Risk Management Technology and works in close partnership with the Crew Lead, Financial Risk and Modelling. The purpose is to lead the design and execution of the combined business and technology roadmap for Financial Modelling. You will be accountable for the models and solutions we create, including system performance, cost and technology risk of applications and IT services. The Crew Tech Lead (CTL) will drive adoption of the Group\'s Technology Strategy through DevSecOps, modern data platforms, AI, and improvements to the Data Marketplace and delivery capability.

The objective of the technology roadmap for Financial Risk Modelling is to modernise our model lifecycle, data and technology delivery to deliver models faster. The successful candidate will have strong technical understanding and a track record in modern data engineering, with a passion for innovation in how data is delivered and used for advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop a technology roadmap to support the Financial Modelling Crew, aligned to the Group\'s Technology Strategy
  • Collaborate with product owners, SMEs, architecture, and engineering to design and implement technology solutions that deliver business outcomes
  • Lead a team of technology professionals within the crew as part of the CBA Pace model, including team members in CBA India
  • Coordinate with Group Technology functions on data ingestion, integration, and security
  • Operate business applications to required levels of availability and reliability within a DevSecOps delivery model
  • Partner with solution and delivery vendors to deliver positive and innovative outcomes
  • Work with Finance, Risk, Performance, and HR to manage and optimise risk, cost and workforce profiles
About you
  • Significant experience in data, engineering and delivery on modern cloud-based data architectures and platforms
  • Strong understanding of Advanced Analytics, ideally with experience in Financial Credit models
  • Experience in AI technologies and their application to data engineering and user experience
  • Track record of solving business problems and opportunities with technology
  • Experience with DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methods
  • Background in development with Python, Java or similar languages
  • Growth mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
