We are seeking an experienced People and Culture Business Partner to join our collaborative team as we implement the City of Sydney's new People Strategy.
About The RoleThis role carries a heightened focus on conducting and coordinating case management across the People and Culture Business Partner team, while managing a smaller client portfolio with full partnering scope. It also offers hands‑on involvement in shaping forward‑looking People and Culture projects.
Key focus areas include acting as the subject matter expert for the business units supported, providing advice on people practices, policies and procedures, and partnering to drive compliance, performance and employee engagement. The role also involves working with teams across Recruitment, Learning and Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Workplace Health and Safety, Workers Compensation, HR Systems and Payroll Services.
Key Accountabilities- Carry a heightened focus on conducting case management across the wider People and Culture Business Partner team while continuing to manage a smaller client portfolio with full partnering scope.
- Act as the subject matter expert for business units to provide advice and guidance and work on strategic initiatives with other teams within the division.
- Assist with managing employee and industrial relations matters within business units, driving outcomes and mitigating risk.
- Manage and contribute to change management initiatives.
- Apply knowledge and expertise to create and implement cultural initiatives to embed our values in everything we do.
- Demonstrated capability in conducting, coordinating and reporting on complex case management matters, ideally using digital case-tracking systems and analytics, in a unionised or industrial environment.
- Proven experience in workplace mediation and/or facilitation is highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualifications at degree or diploma level in human resources management or equivalent, or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in providing a range of Human Resources generalist advice in large or complex organisations.
- Demonstrated consultative approach in delivering human resources services to managers and employees.
