How you Contribute

As anAI Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Emesent's AI strategy. This is a unique opportunity to define the vision, drive the development of AI solutions, and ensure their seamless integration across our product suite. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and business stakeholders, to maximize the potential of AI in our solutions. Reporting to the CEO, this role requires a strong technical background in AI/ML, coupled with leadership skills to guide the AI strategy and ensure its alignment with business objectives.


Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

AI Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and execute Emesent's AI vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives and long-term growth.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for AI applications across product development, internal operations, and customer solutions.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends in AI, machine learning, and robotics, ensuring Emesent remains competitive and innovative.
  • Advocate for ethical AI, best practices, and governance to ensure responsible AI use across the organization.
AI Product Development & Innovation
  • Lead AI-driven enhancements to Emesent's mapping, SLAM, and autonomous robotics products, ensuring integration with emerging AI technologies.
  • Oversee the full AI/ML model lifecycle—from research and prototyping to production deployment—ensuring the scalability, efficiency, and accuracy of models.
  • Drive innovation in AI-powered product features, including computer vision, sensor fusion, autonomy, and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure AI technologies are incorporated into both new and existing product offerings.
AI Operational Excellence
  • Implement MLOps practices for efficient model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Optimize AI models, pipelines, and data workflows to ensure reliability, speed, and scalability.
  • Establish and track key AI performance metrics, continuously refining models to meet customer needs and business goals.
  • Ensure that AI solutions are deployed at scale and can drive operational efficiencies across engineering, product support, and business operations.
AI-Driven Autonomy & Analytics
  • Develop AI solutions for autonomous decision-making, particularly in drone-based applications such as path planning, obstacle avoidance, and real-time decision-making.
  • Lead the integration of edge computing and real-time data processing for drones to analyze data on the fly, reducing post-processing time.
  • Drive the development of AI-driven analytics platforms to provide customers with actionable insights from raw data, including predictive maintenance and anomaly detection.
  • Leverage natural language processing (NLP) and conversational AI to make drone operations and data queries more intuitive and user-friendly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, marketing, and sales, to ensure AI solutions align with customer needs and business priorities.
  • Represent Emesent's AI strategy externally, speaking at industry events, customer meetings, and investor discussions.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure the successful adoption and integration of AI solutions.
Team Growth & Leadership
  • Lead the growth of Emesent's AI capabilities by building and mentoring a high-performing AI team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and experimentation within the team.
  • Establish best practices for AI development, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Infrastructure & Development Roadmap
  • Drive research partnerships with universities, industry leaders, and other organizations to advance AI capabilities.
  • Lead the development of high-performance computing infrastructure to support AI solutions, including edge computing and cloud-based services.
  • Ensure that AI solutions are designed with scalability and regulatory compliance in mind, particularly for autonomous drone operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or related fields, with a focus on machine learning, deep learning, and AI model deployment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, preferably in a product-focused AI role, with a demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between research and real-world implementation.
  • Strong technical expertise in AI technologies such as computer vision, SLAM, reinforcement learning, sensor fusion, and real-time analytics.
  • Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or industrial applications is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud AI services (AWS, GCP, Azure), MLOps practices, and AI infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of delivering AI-driven products that drive business impact and align with customer needs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory considerations in AI, particularly for autonomous systems (e.g., BVLOS compliance for drone operations), is a plus.
