Due to continued growth and practice expansion, we are seeking a soon to be graduate, recently graduated or candidate with a 1–2-years in property valuation to join our Marsh Valuations Services team at Marsh Advisory. This role will be based in either Sydney or Melbourne. Specifically, this role relates to supporting the day to day undertaking of commercial and strata focused work due to significant growth in this area after business expansion.

Marsh Valuation Services are specialists in valuations of property, infrastructure, plant and equipment assets throughout the Pacific Region with a strong focus on financial reporting and insurance valuations with no reliance on bank panels or mortgage valuations.

We are seeking an enthusiastic self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic and good attention to detail. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow your career in a fast-paced environment and unique area of specialisation, working alongside senior staff on varied and interesting valuations.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the team providing wide-ranging advice, primarily to assist with insurance and financial reporting valuation requirements across NSW and Australia.

The successful applicant will have access to training opportunities, flexible working arrangements along with other company wide incentives.

We will count on you to:

  • Assist with Commercial & Strata valuations program. Types of properties would typically include commercial & residential strata properties, small to medium industrial, commercial and retail properties, prestige residential and other asset classes as required.
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure on time and accurate delivery.
  • Undertake research & data analysis.
  • Complete supervised site inspections and field work.
  • Report & spreadsheet compilation to include data transfer, formatting & formulas.
  • Liaise with client representatives.
  • Use our in-house valuation program.
  • Arrange project plans & site inspections.
  • Support senior staff with general valuation, research & analysis tasks.

What you need to have:

  • Degree (or soon to be completed Degree) in Property Valuation.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and computer competency.
  • Desire and willingness to learn new skills to complement your existing skills.
  • Willing to travel both regionally and nationally.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in financial reporting, insurance and/or market valuations would be looked upon favorably.
