Petuna is seeking a Maintenance Trades Assistant to join our dedicated team at our processing plant in East Devonport. In this vital support role, you'll work alongside experienced tradespeople to maintain and service our facilities, plant, and equipment, playing a key part in ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence across the site.

Maintenance Team

As a Maintenance Trades Assistant, you'll be part of a proactive team responsible for supporting maintenance activities across the site. This includes assisting with routine servicing, troubleshooting, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.

Duties

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, key duties and responsibilities for the role include:

Assisting with the maintenance and repair of plant, equipment, and site infrastructure.

Supporting safe work practices and complying with WHS procedures.

Helping reduce downtime by responding to equipment breakdowns efficiently.

Maintaining accurate records in our MEX-based maintenance system.

Communicating effectively with team members to ensure spare parts and materials are available when needed.

Qualifications Required

A trade qualification, preferably in fitting or mechanical maintenance, or a willingness to undertaking a trade qualification.

Prior experience in a maintenance or similar hands-on role.

Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Mechanical or marine engineering experience is a plus.

Current right to work in Australia (visa holders must provide a valid VEVO).
