Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support and enhance data warehouse and analytics capabilities within a complex Australian Federal Government environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring high performance, secure data management, and effective collaboration across technical teams.
Due to the nature of this role, Australian Citizenship is required, along with a minimum Baseline security clearance.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multiple technical teams across the organisation and other stakeholders to deliver data engineering solutions.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive documentation of data models, dimensional models, ETL processes, and related artefacts.
- Monitor and optimise data warehouse performance through indexing, partitioning, aggregation, and other performance-enhancing techniques.
- Ensure adherence to data management policies, quality standards, and data governance frameworks.
- Implement and manage data security measures including access control, encryption, and privacy compliance, in collaboration with security teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in ETL development, Data modelling and Database management.
- Strong ICT expertise, with proven ability to work across complex enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Previous experience working in or with Federal Government clients (preferred).
