Operions & Service Manager

We're looking for an experienced operations manager with trade smarts and leadership grit to take charge of our industrial machinery service business.
This isn't a desk-only role. You'll run the daily operations, lead the service team, and spend one day a week on the tools to stay sharp, learn the trade, and earn the crew's respect.
We are a small team and need every person on the team willing to jump in and help out sometimes.
About the role:
Manage scheduling, service delivery, customer communication, and reporting.
Lead and mentor technicians — setting standards, keeping them safe, and keeping them accountable.
Get hands-on one day a week so you can really understand the work you're in charge of.
Troubleshoot with customers over the phone and support the team in the field.
Keep the owners in the loop with clear, practical monthly reporting.
You'll need:
Trade background in mechanical, diesel, HVAC, electrical, plant maintenance or similar.
Proven team leadership experience — you know how to manage performance and still keep the team onside.
Strong operational skills — scheduling, job costing, KPIs, and reporting.
Confidence to make decisions, solve problems, and step in when things go wrong.
A balance of "firm but fair" — you can hold people accountable without losing the room.
