Provide a diagnostic and consultative service for inpatients and outpatients in adult and paediatric haematology at the Northern Cancer Service. Contribute to undergraduate teaching and post graduate teaching. Undertake quality improvement and research activities.

The Tasmanian Health Service seeks a Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist to join the Northern Cancer Service. The position will be based at the W.P. Holman Clinic in Launceston providing inpatient and outpatient care. It will also provide outreach outpatient services to the North West Cancer Centre in Burnie and the Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe.

The Role:

  • Provide a diagnostic and consultative service for inpatients and outpatients in adult haematology.
  • Contribute to undergraduate teaching and post graduate teaching.
  • Undertake quality improvement and research activities.
  • Permanent, full time, day work position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. The successful applicant will also be part of an on-call roster.

Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Australia or equivalent.
