Senior Software Engineer

Here's a chance to roll up your sleeves and work on something that really matters. We're looking for a Senior Python Developer to help tackle some of the most complex migration work we've ever taken on, reimagining and rebuilding critical applications used daily by millions of Australians.

This isn't just about writing code. It's about solving tough problems, making smart design calls, and helping shape a platform that will scale well into the future. You'll work hands-on with AWS and modern Python frameworks, collaborate with a talented team, and make sure the solutions we deliver are secure, reliable, and rock-solid in production.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, building, and deploying complex software in AWS that millions of people will rely on.
• Working closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions that hit the mark on business-critical needs.
• Raising the bar on engineering quality by mentoring junior developers and driving better coding practices.
• Making sure our apps don't just work in production, but thrive — with the right monitoring, operations, and release practices.
• Playing your part in complex migration projects, solving the tricky problems that come with moving large, integrated systems.

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial experience in Python and AWS.
• Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, Postgres.
• Solid understanding of software development practices and tools (Git, GitHub Actions, IDEs).
• A knack for solving complex problems and explaining solutions clearly.
• Someone who enjoys learning, experimenting, and staying ahead of the curve.
• Tertiary qualifications in IT (or equivalent experience).

Bonus points if you have

• AWS certifications.
• Event-driven apps or large-scale migration projects.
• API development skills to support React developers.
