About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Site Manager and HSE Representative to oversee the operations and maintenance (O&M) of over 330 MW of utility-scale Solar PV plants across multiple sites in Victoria. This dual-role position combines technical site management and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) leadership, ensuring optimal plant performance, stakeholder coordination, and strict compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Site & Operations Management:

  • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team including O&M Site Managers, Engineers, Electricians, and HSE Managers to achieve peak plant efficiency.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of multiple Solar PV assets (Karadoc, Yatpool, Bannerton) to ensure high inverter availability and system uptime.
  • Oversee SCADA operations using platforms such as SIEMENS, Schneider, GPM, and AZZO, in collaboration with the Spain-based Control Centre and industry entities (AEMO, Powercor, Overwatch, Alinta, NSP).
  • Monitor plant performance metrics, automate reporting, and reduce preventable performance losses through data analysis and actionable insights.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement:

  • Maintain strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to provide operational updates, resolve issues, and manage subcontractors across areas such as HV switching, thermography, vegetation management, IT systems, and fire safety compliance

HSE Leadership:

· Enforce rigorous safety and environmental protocols across all sites, including:

  • Daily pre-starts
  • Weekly toolbox meetings
  • Emergency response drills
  • Monthly audits
  • Ongoing site inspections

· Manage the timely submission of performance and HSE reports, ensuring regulatory compliance across all assets.

· Raise and track technical support tickets (SMA inverters, NEXTRACKER systems) and assist in the preparation of work orders and procedural documentation.

Key Requirements:

· Proven experience in large-scale solar O&M, site supervision, or asset management.

· Strong understanding of SCADA systems and solar inverter technologies.

· In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation, practices, and auditing in the renewable energy or construction sector.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate with multinational clients, subcontractors, and technical teams.

· Demonstrated ability to manage time-sensitive reporting and regulatory submissions.
