Location:

The Department of Health is seeking applicants for a full-time fixed term Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services team at Clare House.

The Team:

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a tertiary level clinical mental health service, providing triage, assessment, treatment and support to young people aged 0-18 and their families statewide. The multidisciplinary team works across several sites and provides a therapeutic service for both inpatients and outpatients across Tasmania.

The Role:

As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will:

  • Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management, individual therapies and groups, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other agencies regarding the support and management of clients with mental health needs.
  • Provide interventions for clients with major and complex mental health problems, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs within a multidisciplinary team.
Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$106,570 to $112,440 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type (RN)
Salary Packaging:

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Benefits available to eligible candidates:
  • Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Working with Children Registration

Desirable criteria:

  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role
  • Current Driver's Licence
