Mindsets is a young, international award-winning education technology company based in the US and Australia. We serve K12 students, teachers, schools and administrators in the USA market and globally.

Our Melbourne based team is seeking a Data Analyst/Scientist, with an immediate start available to support and curate our new data product which provides data insights on students' mastery, strengths and gaps.

Ideal Candidate

  • You love the idea of jumping right in and growing with our emerging data product, no task is too big or too small and not everything is laid out, you will go on a journey to discover needs and features, iteratively.
  • You have the skills to work fast to extract valuable insights from highly complex data sets to ask the right questions and find the right answers to add value to our learners' data stories.
  • You're a strong communicator and collaborator and will thrive working alongside our global multi-disciplinary team (professional development and training, product development & engineering, customer analytics, sales and marketing teams) to deliver high value to our education customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear visualizations for our education customers to convey data stories and actionable insights from complicated learning data in a straightforward fashion.
  • Work with cutting edge Ai enabled assessment solutions for our customers.
  • Curate the data product and reports by improving business and technical requirements documents, and seek consensus from the team to resolve data gaps and improvements.
  • Design the next generation features including new reports, integrations and scalable prediction algorithms.
  • Analyze raw data and AI data: assessing quality, cleansing, structuring our customer's learning data.
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to refine our first generation product to the next stage of prototypes to release.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience).
  • 1 - 5 years' experience in data analysis, data modeling or similar.
  • Proficient in SQL and/or a programming language R/Python (R preferred).
  • Familiarity with data frameworks and visualization tools.
  • Native English language skills, both verbal and written, are mandatory.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Understanding and empathy for the issues in the education sector.
  • Experience with education data is desirable although not mandatory as we are seeking a candidate who is a fast and thoughtful learner, and can lean in and grow with the product.

  • Be an Australian Passport holder or have a visa entitling you to work in Australia.
