The Role:
SVES is seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Emergency Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by patient care, client communication, and professional development. As a part-time member of our emergency and critical care team, you will play an essential role in triaging emergency cases, assisting with a variety of procedures, and providing vital support to both our patients and clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Triage and prioritise emergency cases
- Assist in emergency and critical care procedures, including anaesthesia, IV catheter placement, radiographs, and intensive monitoring
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for emergency and critical patients
- Work closely with emergency clinicians and specialists to ensure seamless patient care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates and reassurance during stressful situations
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment, supporting both clinical and operational needs
About You:
- You hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Veterinary Technician Diploma (essential)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary nursing is required
- Prior experience in emergency or referral practice is desirable but not essential
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You are able to manage your time effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
- You are passionate about animal care and committed to delivering exceptional customer service
- You are willing to work overnight shifts as required
