The Department of Human Services - Child Welfare Services Branch is seeking highly qualified Social Workers to improve the overall quality of life of people within the context of their environment through the remediation and prevention of their problems, and by improving accessibility, accountability and coordination of service delivery among a variety of professionals and/or agencies tasked with providing appropriate services to clients.
These positions are located in the Child Welfare Services Branch (CWSB) of the Department of Human Services. The CWSB provides services for child protection, foster care, adoption, independent living skills, case management foster home recruitment and licensing and contracted support and treatment services to prevent and remedy abuse and neglect.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess client needs and develop effective plans to address them
- Conduct home visits and other community-based interventions to promote client well-being
- Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to provide comprehensive services to clients
- Maintain accurate records and reports on client progress and services provided
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education-accredited program or equivalent regional accreditation body
- No experience required for Level II; one year of progressively responsible professional work experience for Level III; two years for Level IV
- Valid driver's license for some positions
The following salaries include Shortage Category Differential. Salary will be determined on placement and level qualified.
SW II:
- General SW positions: $4,925 per month (SR-18, Step D)
- Assessment: $5,110 per month (SR-18, Step D)
- Geographical: $5,110 per month (SR-18, Step D)
- Assessment and Geographical: $5,295 (SR-18, Step D)
SW III:
- General SW positions: $5,319 to $6,124 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
- Assessment: $5,519 to $6,212 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
- Geographical: $5,519 to $6,212 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
- Assessment and Geographical: $5,719 to $6,300 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
SW IV:
- General SW positions: $5,860 to $6,666 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
- Assessment: $6,060 to $6,756 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
- Geographical: $6,060 to $6,756 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
- Assessment and Geographical: $6,260 to $6,845 (SR-22, Step D to I)
Positions available in various locations throughout Hawaii, including West Hawaii CWS Section, Maui CWS Section, and Oahu CWS Section 4.
Working Conditions:This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
