About This Job
Position Information
Emmaville Central School is a small K-12 school, located in a small rural and remote township/village with a population of approximately 500. It is located 42 kilometres north-west of Glen Innes in northern NSW-New England Tablelands region. The school caters for the varied learning needs of 91 students, including 26% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. Students come from a diverse range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
Emmaville Central School offers individualised learning in small composite class groups and in stage groups. There is a strong emphasis on quality teaching and learning.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Mathematics (7-12) and demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a K-12 setting.
Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver new curriculum that focusses on engaging and differentiating teaching and learning programs and assessment, for a diverse range of student learning needs in a single teacher faculty.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with parents, students, colleagues and the broader school community in a rural and remote setting.
Demonstrated ability to implement effective behaviour management and wellbeing strategies to create a positive, safe and supportive learning environment.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.
