Our client, a leading global provider in the agricultural production and distribution sector, is seeking two experienced and passionate Senior Legal Counsels for distinct contract opportunities:

1. 6-Month Secondment Role

A dynamic short-term opportunity to work across a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contracting, dispute resolution, employment law, privacy, competition law, and regulatory compliance.

2. 12–18 Month Maternity Leave Cover

A longer-term role offering continuity and depth across similar legal areas, with the added opportunity to contribute to strategic legal initiatives and stakeholder engagement.

Location: Melbourne-based, with flexible working arrangements (3 days in the office per week).

Both roles offer exposure to a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a globally significant industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide timely, solutions-focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements to support core business functions.
• Advise on and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across the organisation.
• Assist in the resolution and management of disputes, including litigation and regulatory inquiries.
• Monitor changes in legislation and provide strategic guidance on the impact on the business.
• Support internal training and compliance initiatives, including anti-corruption, competition law, and contract management.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to facilitate cooperation and positive outcomes.

About You:

• A minimum of 7+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Strong understanding of the regulated environments and large matrixed organisations.
• Demonstrated experience in general commercial contracts, risk, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Experience in litigation, competition law, privacy, and employment law.
• Strong background in a top-tier law firm or equivalent in-house legal role.
