Technical Business Analyst – IAM & Cybersecurity

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technical Business Analyst with strong experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Cybersecurity to support key initiatives across our enterprise security landscape. This role involves bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant identity lifecycle management. This is for one of our clients based in Melbourne

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document IAM-related business and technical requirements.
  • Define and document IAM processes such as Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML), MFA, SSO, RBAC, and Entitlement Reviews.
  • Assist with integration of business applications with Azure Entra ID, Okta, or similar IAM platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security, Infrastructure, HR, Applications) to align IAM and cyber controls with business needs.
  • Conduct gap analysis and recommend IAM and cybersecurity process improvements.
  • Support access governance, audit preparation, and compliance initiatives (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, Essential Eight).
  • Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for IAM implementations.
  • Translate security policies and standards into actionable business and technical processes.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity architects and engineers on technical solution design.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or Cybersecurity.
  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts: authentication, authorization, provisioning, RBAC, SSO, PAM, MFA.
  • Experience with one or more IAM platforms: Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk, or Ping Identity.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, REST APIs, and cloud IAM integration.
  • Experience working on cybersecurity projects involving controls, risk assessments, or incident response is a plus.
  • Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
