The Role: Maintenance Coordinator (Mechanical / Structural)

Join our Above Water Systems team, managing work packages within major Naval and Commercial projects. You'll oversee safety, cost, schedule, and quality, ensuring smooth project execution alongside Managers, Project Managers, and Supervisors. This role is situated at the Garden Island Defence Precinct.

We are hiring for Mechanical and Structural Maintenance Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high safety standards and enforce environmental policies.
  • Monitor workplace safety and implement corrective measures.
  • Oversee project execution, managing client relationships and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate trade supervisors and subcontractors to meet project timelines.
  • Track project progress, address risks, and report to managers.
  • Analyse labour hours and material costs to meet financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and technical standards.
  • Attend meetings to monitor progress and resolve project challenges.
Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or relevant trade experience.
  • Strong safety leadership in complex industrial environments.
  • Previous Superintendent experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in costing, technical proposals, and financial processes.
  • Background in shipbuilding, ship repair, heavy engineering, or civil engineering is beneficial.
