About us:

Community Services #1 is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people and families in the ACT and surrounding NSW regions. With over 200 employees and volunteers, we deliver programs that address community needs and foster a sense of belonging.

At Narrabundah Cottage, we cater children 6 weeks to 2 years and provide secure nurturing environment catering to individual needs of babies and families.

The Traineeship Program will allow you to complete a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care whilst in paid employment and gaining experience in a supportive environment.

We offer full time traineeships for school leavers who may be looking to start their career in early education. This is also a great opportunity for those looking for a career change or hoping to return to work.

About the role:

Trainee

  • To create a safe, stimulating and caring environment, which respects all participants.
  • To ensure that individual children's needs are met and that they are given care, attention and comfort as required.
  • To ensure that effective open communication is developed and maintained with all parents.
  • To work through the Certificate III as outlined in the Study Plan.

About you:

  • Committed to supporting children's learning and confidence through engaging activities
  • A commitment to study and learning through experience
  • Ability to build strong connections with children, families and team
  • Hold a current ACT Working with Vulnerable People card
  • Available to work Full time and is flexible
  • National Police Check
  • No prior experience is necessary, just a love for wanting to work with children

There are entry requirements you will need to meet, and only certain visas are eligible for traineeship.
