The Opportunity

As EC Carpets continues to grow, this exciting opportunity has become available due to an internal promotion. We are now seeking an experienced Production Manager to manage our operations in Lonsdale.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this role offers an exceptional chance to direct and optimise manufacturing processes within a large-scale, complex environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a safety-first culture, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and developing manufacturing best practices. This is a full-time permanent position that requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct daily operations to achieve production targets while ensuring compliance with quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
• Promote a safety-first culture by leading root cause investigations on safety incidents.
• Develop department Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct regular audits.
• Build and manage a high-performing team, fostering accountability, engagement, and collaboration.
• Oversee costs related to production consumables, energy consumption, labour overtime, etc.
• Assist in the development of production budgets and monitor expenses against targets.
• Drive the implementation of Continuous Improvement methodologies throughout the Production process.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
• Support the organisation's commitment to quality and environmental standards.
• Ensure available headcount and trained shift resources are aligned with company capacity plans.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' Production Management experience in a high-volume multi-shift facility.
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Strong experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven ability to drive change and drive team accountability.
• Experience in department budgeting, rostering, and training.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Understanding of relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Achievement of high standards in ethics, values, and company culture.
