About the company

Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage a Business Solution Architect. This position is located in their busy Brisbane CBD office for an initial 12-month contract.

About the Position

The Business Solution Architect is accountable for translating strategic business needs into actionable, investment-ready ICT and digital initiatives. The role works across internal teams and external vendors to frame problems, define value, shape solutions, and ensure business cases are robust, realistic, and aligned with delivery capabilities.

Duties
  • Lead collaborative opportunity shaping across internal business, ICT, and vendor teams.
  • Translate business strategy into structured digital and ICT initiatives through discovery and scoping.
  • Facilitate workshops to define scope, risks, assumptions, and benefits.
  • Coordinate with enterprise architects, delivery leads, and vendors to estimate and validate solution options.
  • Develop and contribute to business cases, cost models, ROI, and success metrics.
  • Ensure initiatives align with enterprise architecture, cyber, and delivery standards.
  • Support transition into delivery teams with clear scope, value, and constraints.
Requirements/Skills
  • Strong business acumen and commercial analysis skills.
  • Deep experience in estimating ICT projects and shaping realistic delivery pathways.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to align stakeholders.
  • Proven ability in business case development and investment readiness processes.
  • Experience in ICT/digital solution consulting, pre-sales, or business strategy.
  • Familiarity with agile, hybrid, and stage-gated delivery environments.
  • Strong influencing, problem-solving, and ownership mindset.
