Overview

Lead Technician – Cloud architecture and engineering role focusing on AWS, security, DevOps, and solution design. Located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
  2. Guide the development team on DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CodePipeline.
  3. Ensure system reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other observability tools.
Must Have Skills
  • AWS Architecture & Services Expertise – Deep understanding of core AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and ECS/EKS.
  • Cloud Security & Governance – Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • DevOps & CI/CD – Experience with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, Terraform, and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solution Design & Leadership – Ability to design scalable, resilient cloud solutions and lead technical teams through implementation and delivery.
  • Monitoring & Performance Optimization – Proficiency in using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other tools to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure.
Nice To Have Skills
  • Experience with Serverless Architectures – Familiarity with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions for building scalable, event-driven applications.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning Services – Exposure to AWS SageMaker or other ML tools for integrating predictive analytics.
  • Multi-Cloud or Hybrid Cloud Experience – Understanding of Azure or GCP environments for interoperability and migration strategies.
