Position Summary

WTC Communications is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a position as a full-time Field Technician based out of our Westport and Perth offices. We are looking for individuals that have some experience with hands-on outside work and are looking for a long-term commitment to a position in the area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Field Technician is required to use a company vehicle to visit various customer locations throughout the Perth area and will be responsible for any outside duties relating to the operation of our broadband business including but not limited to installing residential and commercial fiber optic equipment. The chosen candidate will also be responsible for sharing 24/7 on-call duties and completing urgent repairs after hours when required.

Education and Experience

  1. 3 years working experience in a hands-on outside environment
  2. High school diploma or equivalent
  3. Class G driver's license with clean abstract
  4. WHMIS and Fall Arrest certifications would be an asset
  5. Post Secondary education in electronics would be an asset

Skills

  1. Must be able to meet physical demands for outside work in all weather conditions
  2. Must be able to work well under pressure, follow direction, and meet deadlines
  3. Must be able to work comfortably in a team environment
  4. Honest, trustworthy and professional with safe working habits and good customer service
  5. Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and various software applications
  6. Knowledge of Telephone/Wireless/DSL/Fibre/Video technologies is an asset
