Location: Port Macquarie or Taree, NSW

The position

As the Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Medical Radiation Science, you will primarily be responsible for the delivery of teaching, assessment and support of Medical Radiation Science (MRS) student placements in Port Macquarie and Taree and surrounding districts on the Mid-North Coast of NSW, particularly, but not exclusively, in Radiation Therapy.You will liaise with placement supervisors and students in the region, coordinate timetabling for MRS students, provide sessional face-to-face teaching and collaborate with other academic and professional staff to develop and implement interprofessional education and community engagement. Additionally, you will teach across other disciplines represented within the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health (UONDRH) as required.

About you

You will be an experienced Medical Radiation Therapist with an interest or experience in student teaching and learning. You will also be passionate about redressing rural health inequity.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a recognised degree in Medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy) or related discipline (and PhD for Level B appointments).
  • Hold registration with Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
  • Possess a minimum of two years relevant post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Be experienced in teaching and student supervision.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Hold a current Driver's licence.
  • Have knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.

A Working with Children Check and Criminal Records Check will be required for this position.
