The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on our Mainframe product line. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of z/OS Assembler (HLASM) and related technologies to design, develop, and maintain critical software solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Developing high-quality, efficient code in Mainframe environments.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Participating in code reviews and mentoring junior team members.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices.
  • Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying them to enhance our products.

This position requires strong analytical skills, a commitment to teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will play a key role in ensuring our software solutions meet the needs of our clients in critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, and government.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of ISPF, JCL and IBM utilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to learning new technologies as needed.
  • Understanding of Agile principles.

Preferred Skills:

  • z/OS (MVS) systems programming experience and/or other software installation and administration; SMP/E.
  • System Z architecture knowledge.
  • DADSM, O/C/EOV.
  • CATALOGs, VVDS, VVRs.
  • ICKDSF, IODF, HCD.
  • GTF I/O trace, SLIP traps, IF trace.
  • SMS, ACS routines.
  • SDSF.
  • DFSMS access methods.
  • DFP, DFHSM, DFDSS.
  • VTOC.
  • XDC.
  • PPRC/GDPS/Flashcopy or OEM equivalents.
  • QSAM, VSAM, BSAM.
  • UCB Scan Services.
