What e2 9s the role?In this role you will present weather news and weather content in a manner that engages viewers. You present information accurately and in a timely manner. You are able to report live in the field 20 3 including in extreme weather events 20 3 while also pitching and preparing packages. You work as a team to produce content that impacts our viewers quickly to air.
Key Responsibilities- Present live and recorded weather content on Sky News Weather and other Sky News Channels.
- Produce and present segments that are accurate, relevant and engaging
- Collaborate with meteorologists to ensure you are understanding and communicating weather forecasts effectively
- Respond to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations, as required.
- Report in the field where required during major weather events
- Pitch news coverage of weather events and stories
- Work as a team to get content on air including writing scripts, editing vision and sourcing guests
- Prepare openers and teases including basic video editing.
- Write copy for Digital where required
- Minimum of two years as a television presenter
- Ability to receive and assess information from meteorologists and communicate it to the audience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively present on-air.
- Ability to write and produce content for on-air use
- Ability to report in the field in both a live and non-live situation
- Developed time management skills, the ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines
- Willingness to learn complex scientific processes in a short training period
- Ability to work independently within a broader team environment
