Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full payroll function for both salaried and site-based employees, ensuring compliance with EBAs, awards, and legislative obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll for a diverse workforce
  • Interpret EBAs and awards to ensure accurate pay processing
  • Handle payroll queries and provide expert support to internal stakeholders
  • Perform month-end payroll reconciliations and reporting
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and HR teams as well as external payroll partner
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and ensure payroll compliance

The Successful Applicant

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Officer within construction or a related industry
  • Strong knowledge of EBAs, awards, and Fair Work legislation
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Experience using large payroll systems (e.g. Chris21, Preceda, or similar)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Available to commence immediately or on short notice
