Head Packer

Mary Street Bakery is an artisan bakery producing a high volume of bread, donuts and pastries for supply to our venues and wholesale customers from our purpose built warehouse in Bassendean.

We are seeking an experienced Packing Manager to lead our packing team to ensure our goods are packed and labelled ready for delivery on time for delivery drivers.

The role would suit someone who has had previous management experience, packing experience or bakery/pastry experience.

The successful applicant must be able to communicate well with our team and customers to problem solve any packing and delivery issues that arise prior to the shift finish time.

This role includes driving a van to deliver product if needed to fix errors.

This is an exciting role for someone that is up for a challenge, that wants to lead their own team and help the business facilitate growth.

Must be able to work nights and be available Sunday night to Thursday night. (Friday and Saturday night off)Shifts commence at 8pm and finish at 4.30am

The position would suit an individual who has the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment with great attention to detail.

The applicant must have:

Experience leading a small team

Strong organisational skills

Current divers license and ability to drive a manual 2 tonne van

Ability to work to a deadline and under pressure

Excellent problem solving skills

Your role will include but is not limited to:

Leading, managing and training staff on shift

Slicing, labelling, dating and packing orders of all bread and pastries

Responsible for stock control of packing supplies

Cleaning and Maintenance of packing equipment

Cleaning and maintenance of dock area

Communication with the Wholesale Manager and Heads of Pastry and Bread department of any issues that arise

Driving light commercial vehicles
