Overview

Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

  • Initial 6 month contract
  • Travel to Darwin required
  • Utilities background a must

You will be the key driver in leading, designing, and delivering the company's cybersecurity strategy and implementation plan. This is a hands on leadership position where you will be instrumental in protecting critical infrastructure and managing the evolving threat landscape. The role is offered as an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and enhance the cybersecurity strategy and policies across both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk and threat landscape assessments for critical infrastructure assets.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap that incorporates regulatory requirements, with a specific focus on the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and vendor partners to ensure alignment with business resilience and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and development plans for the cyber security team and deliver regular strategic briefings to executive leadership.
Skills & Experience

We are seeking a seasoned security leader who brings a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Chief Information Security Officer, preferably within a utility or critical infrastructure organisation.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven executive leadership and team building skills.
  • A CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or equivalent accreditation.
  • In depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulatory compliance, particularly the SOCI Act.
  • Direct experience with the successful implementation of OT projects.
  • Strong communication and executive influencing skills.

Highly Desirable:

  • Program and portfolio management skills.
  • Knowledge of IT/OT networks and associated challenges, including SCADA, Cloud, and AI platforms.
  • Strong presentation and report writing skills.

Eligibility: Candidates must have full working rights in Australia and be a Citizen or Permanent Resident.
