About The Role

You will be responsible for planning, assessing, designing, and implementing security solutions and controls to maintain and improve the information security posture for Standards Australia, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and aligned with our IT and security strategy.

This role is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract.

What You'll Do
  1. Assess, design, and implement appropriate cybersecurity controls and solutions as part of the cybersecurity uplift program.
  2. Perform threat modeling to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, developing mitigation strategies.
  3. Collaborate with IT solution architects and stakeholders to assess, design, and implement security controls in projects.
  4. Oversee deployment of security solutions, ensuring proper configuration and optimization.
  5. Create security architecture solutions aligned with enterprise frameworks like NIST, ISO27001, supporting business and security strategies.
  6. Conduct regular reviews of security frameworks for compliance and effectiveness.
  7. Manage vulnerabilities and threat intelligence.
  8. Conduct security and risk assessments with stakeholders.
  9. Provide security/architecture expertise across the organization.
  10. Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices.
  11. Research and evaluate new security tools and technologies.
  12. Recommend and implement innovative security solutions for emerging threats.
  13. Contribute to organizational security strategy.
  14. Maintain documentation of security architectures, including diagrams, decisions, and configurations.
  15. Assist with security operations as needed.
About you
  • Tertiary qualification in Cyber Security, IT, or Engineering (electronics, computer, communication, networking) is highly regarded.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GSEC, or Security+ are highly regarded.
  • Extensive experience in information security, architecture, and IT risk management.
  • Understanding of security controls and technology.
  • Experience with ISO27001 ISMS or NIST frameworks.
  • Significant experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating environments and service architecture.
