Job Title: Underground Senior Mine Planning Engineer

Liontown Resources is a leading ASX listed company focused on battery minerals, aiming to be an ESG leader in the resources sector and a globally significant provider of battery minerals for the rapidly growing clean energy market.

The Kathleen Valley Lithium Project is a Tier 1 battery metals asset with excellent grade and scale, one of the largest and highest-grade hard rock lithium deposits in the world, and at the forefront of our vision to support the world's transition to a low-carbon future.

About the Role:

This site-based permanent opportunity working an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth requires an experienced Underground Senior Mine Planning Engineer to coordinate and implement planning, design, and scheduling of underground mining activities.

Collaborating with a team of experts, including geologists and mining engineers, you'll ensure safe and efficient extraction of mineral resources.

  • Contribute to mine plan development and optimisation for underground operations, considering geological, geotechnical, and safety parameters.
  • Partner with Principal Mining Engineer to craft Life of Mine and Quarterly schedules to maximise ore recovery and align with corporate targets.
  • Work closely with Ventilation Engineers to design and optimise ventilation systems and partner with Geotechnical Engineers to address potential geotechnical challenges in designs.
  • Strategise and engineer underground infrastructure, including raises, declines, and haulage systems.
  • Collaborate with geologists, geotechnical engineers, and stakeholders to incorporate mine planning considerations effectively.
About You:
  • 7+ years experience in underground mining engineering roles with a focus on mine planning and design.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of mine engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • National Police Clearance and Pre-Employment medical clearance required.
