About The Role

Contribute at a high level to the provision of efficient, effective and client focused financial accounting services including compliance with statutory and reporting requirements. Assist the Senior Accountant in the implementation and co-ordination of appropriate strategies to

support efficient financial management and reporting for the Department. Provide clear and authoritative advice to departmental managers on accounting policies, legislative and reporting requirements and accounting standards.

Period of Appointment

Ongoing - ASAP start date

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)

Desirable Requirements
  • A Degree in Commerce, Business Studies or equivalent in a relevant discipline is desirable.
  • Eligible for membership of the Australian Society of Accountants or equivalent qualification.
