About Newman Hotel

Newman Hotel is a key player in the hospitality industry within the Pilbara region, operating multiple accommodation and dining venues that cater primarily to the mining industry. As part of a larger property syndication group, the hotel is known for its high standards of service, reinvestment in its properties, and strong employee culture.

We operate a 223-room facility, with 30-35 rooms allocated for staff accommodation, and employ 127 staff across various departments. Our venues include multiple bars, a bottle shop, a bistro, and a mess hall that cater to both in-house guests and external contractors.

About the Opportunity

Newman Hotel is looking for a full-time Operations Manager based in Newman, WA.

In this key leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day management while maintaining high service and operational standards. You will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with department heads to drive business performance and team success.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Managing hotel operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, and retail services
  • Ensuring exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Leading and mentoring staff across multiple departments
  • Overseeing budgeting, cost control, and financial performance
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Driving marketing initiatives and community engagement
  • Managing supplier relationships and stock control
  • Assisting with IT and Point of Sale system operations

About You

To qualify, you will need strong leadership and management skills, but do not necessarily need a hospitality background. The ideal candidate is an adaptable and proactive professional with experience working in remote or regional locations.

  • Excellent communication skills with both customers and staff
