The Role

We are seeking a Product and Systems Manager with a passion for entrepreneurship and design, and a desire to create great new products and services and get them to market.

The Product and Systems Manager takes the role of Product Lead in IDE product development projects, providing technical vision and leading the technical team to execute the project. The Product Lead works with the Project Lead to balance quality, time and budget while creating valuable ventures, products and services. The Product and Systems Manager works with the Business Unit Director to ensure the Business Unit and project teams have the technical capabilities and resources required to execute planned product development projects.

  • Product Leadership – Lead technical resources to identify valuable problems/solutions and create ventures, products and services.
  • Project Planning – Define desirable/feasible/viable solutions and assist the project lead with activity and resource planning.
  • Technical Execution – Select and apply appropriate PD processes; set and achieve required quality for PD outputs/outcomes.
  • Risk Management – Identify and manage product risks with effective controls and advise the Project Lead on project risk.
  • Review and Approvals – Conduct Technical Reviews and System Level Design Reviews as planned.
  • Mentor and coach others.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 8+ years in product design and development, including inventing/leading new products and technologies.
  • Experience leading and managing teams (>=3 reports) through all stages of development.
  • Experience directing outputs from multidisciplinary technical personnel.
  • Strong understanding of Medical Device Development and Quality Management Systems ISO 13485 (or similar in regulated industry).
  • Understanding of product development methodologies (design thinking, agile, design controls).
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304, IEC 62366, ISO 14971, ISO 60601.
  • Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Graphics/UI/UX design, Software Engineering or related.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, CAD (SolidWorks, Creo/Pro-e) and FEA software.
