Overview

Senior Program Officer - EAR role at WA Country Health Service (WACHS). Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Eligibility to Apply: For fixed term appointments, a valid working visa is required; for permanent appointments, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia.

Other Conditions: WA Health requires criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. A working with children check (where required), a pre-employment health assessment, and referee inquiries about integrity and ethical behavior may also be requested. Adverse information will be considered as part of the appointment process. A satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA) is mandatory; offers are conditional on PEHA results.

Note: This recruitment process may be used to fill similar vacancies across the health service for 12 months from the endorsement date. If the successful applicant declines or vacates the advertised vacancy, the next most suitable applicant may be selected from this process.

Position Profile

We are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Program Officer - EAR. This position coordinates, develops and supports the design, implementation and evaluation of initiatives to improve emergency access across the WA Country Health Service (WACHS). It is responsible for high-level research and analysis of access to emergency care, ensuring relevant stakeholders are engaged and program objectives are met to support the development of sustainable services.

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, across a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a network of public hospitals, health services and health centres across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.
