Overview

We are seeking a graduate teaching assistant to support our teaching team in delivering Level 3 to 7 bioscience courses. The Schools of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry deliver a range of bioscience courses, including Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, and Biological Sciences.

You will join a team of academics to support teaching, lab practicals, workshops, and seminars, and you will support the delivery and assessment on a range of modules in fully accredited bioscience programmes with a focus on practical, real-world skills and increasing digital content.

Responsibilities
  • Support teaching teams in delivering Level 3 to 7 bioscience modules, including lab practicals, workshops, and seminars.
  • Assist with delivery and assessment on a range of modules in fully accredited bioscience programmes.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching practices and digital content to enhance student learning and employability.
Qualifications
  • 2:1 (or above) BSc (Hons) degree in a relevant bioscience subject.
  • Familiarity with the R programming language is desirable.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with a genuine motivation to support student learning and develop teaching practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to enhance the Faculty's reputation in higher education and occupational circles.

The school focuses on employability, practical skills and life skills, supported by modern facilities and equipment across areas such as biochemistry, biotechnology, cell and molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, nutrition, pharmacology, sport science, chemistry, pharmaceutics, and pharmacy practice. This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary information provided in the job listing (£34,007.00 to £38,379.00 per annum, and a note of a different stated starting salary in the listing).
